Our Digital Camera Learning Center encompasses our in-store classes taught by our knowledgable staff. We currently offer the following courses:
George Eastman's idea for getting the photographic process out to the general population was "you push the button, we do the rest." 120 years later, after struggling through the time where digital photography meant becoming an expert in the field, we have come full circle. We are now offering classes that are designed to allow beginning digital photographers to feel comfortable with taking electronic pictures. Whether you have your first digital camera or are considering one, this course is for you.
This two-session course has been specially designed for newcomers in the digital world to help understand your camera, as well as taking and using digital pictures.
You will be learning about the basics of the camera, what buttons perform what functions, and what to do with your pictures once you have taken them. We will be talking about how pixels capture light and what happens to the image once it has been processed into your camera. You will also learn about similarities and differences between the film and digital world. Our hope is that you will come away from this course with a better understanding of the entire digital process.
Anyone who is just beginning digital photography and wants to get a better understanding of what they are doing, or anyone who has been involved in digital photography and just wants a refresher course of the basics.
6:00 - 8:00 PM
$50 for each two-session course.

When someone gets excited about the photographic process, they want to get pictures of everything and show them around to everyone. What we sometimes forget is that “there is nothing new under the sun." Our job as a creative photographer is to find new ways to look at the same subjects that every other artist has looked at again and again. Being comfortable with the process and knowing your equipment is a good way to start on that path. Whether you are recording your growing family or traveling the world, knowing how to get the shot and having some idea as to what can be done with the originals to make them even better will improve the way you see the world.
This seminar is designed to help you use your camera and related equipment for a more enriching photographic experience.
This two-session seminar has been specially designed for photographers who understand the basics and want to take their photography to the next level.
You will be learning about how the various modes affect specific shooting situations and how to get the most out of your camera system in each mode. We will discuss focus, metering, lighting - artificial and natural, and composition.
Part two of this seminar will be all about the mystery of editing. What can be done and what you should be careful not to do to get the best quality out of your picture files. The programs we will be using for this part of the seminar will be Adobe’s Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.
Anyone who has an understanding of the basics of digital photography and wants to move up to the next level of the craft, or anyone who has been involved in digital photography and just wants to refresh their knowledge of the process.
6:00 - 8:00 PM
$75 for each two-session course.
